Kawasaki KE175 Restoration Part 1
Kawasaki KE175 Restoration Part 1 G'day youtubers, sorry I've been away for a while I have been busy running my own business. Now that i have more time to put towards some more YouTube videos. I would like to share with you my newest addition, which is a 1978 Kawasaki KE 175 that was given to me by my brother. I plan to fix it up and make it into a trail bike and track bike. I want to paint it in Kawasaki Green with white Fenders. This project is on a budget so will just be a tidy and freshen up to make the bike look decent and also safe to ride. The bike is mostly complete however has its issues and neglect by previous owners such as clogged carburettor, stripped threads etc. But can be fixed, that's the whole fun of these projects. Join me on my Restoration of this KE175 which will be documented in several Part Series. I am self-taught, always learning and do make mistakes quite often or even may miss a step / method in the process. By all means this is not a professional restoration business or how to video it's just a hobby I enjoy and making do with what I have. I don't edit anything out of my videos as I like to share my projects on YouTube so when you see my mistakes, please don't do or follow what I did, and I hope you can learn from it too. There's always room for improvement, I am not perfect and at the end of the day we are all here to learn from each other! Enjoy the video. In this Part 1 Series, I am going over the bike and try to figure out if i can start the engine and fix anything along the way. In conclusion the original carburettor had a stripped pilot jet and a jammed choke sleeve. I used my spare carb from my other KE175 just as a temporary fix. Part 2 we will see if i get it running. I'm learning on the go with some knowledge I've gained from restoring my Land Rovers. Feel free to comment if i have missed something or you have some suggestions, id be greatly appreciated. Enjoy the restoration with me.......cheers Chris ;-)
