Hematological malignancies – Part 1b: Myeloproliferative Neoplasms and Myelodysplastic Syndromes

Myeloid leukemias and myeloproliferative and myelodysplastic disorders share common developmental features. In myeloproliferative neoplasms, there is an overproduction of cells in the bone marrow. In contrast, myelodysplastic syndromes aren't characterized by the overproduction of cells in the bone marrow but by bone marrow dysfunction.
