To understand, you need to know the function of this red LED light. WHAT DOES THE RED LED LIGHT MEAN? It might seem as if this LED light is trying to communicate with us in Morse code, but don't worry, interpreting it is very simple; it only emits four different blinking frequencies. Basically, it boils down to the following principle: Flashing light: means there is consumption within that home. It can flash at a rapid rate, which means more consumption; or it can flash less frequently, which means low consumption. On the same meters, we can read 4000 Imp/kWh C1.B, meaning that for every 4000 flashes the light emits, we will have consumed 1 kWh. Steady red light: means there is no consumption. And it is this fixed arrangement that has created the controversy… It so happens that many single-family homes have their new digital meters outside, and it is logical that this light can be interpreted as a "warning" that "no one is home" and poses a risk of "breaking in."
