A Smile Worth Fighting For: Little Warrior Aria

What began as a routine anatomy scan became an unexpected journey for Aria’s family when they learned she would be born with a cleft lip and palate, a condition in which parts of the lip and roof of the mouth do not fully form. Determined to give their daughter the very best care from the very beginning, her parents turned to the Craniofacial Center at Nicklaus Children's Hospital. Led by our Craniofacial Program’s Surgical Director Dr. Jordan Steinberg and a highly specialized craniofacial team, Aria underwent her first surgery at just three months old, followed by a second procedure at 11 months old in the Hospital’s state-of-the-art Kenneth C. Griffin Surgical Tower. Today, Aria is thriving, growing, exploring, and sharing the bright, beautiful smile that lights up every room she enters. Her journey is a powerful reflection of the life-changing care, compassion, and hope made possible every day at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.
