Installing Drush with Composer
Drush is a command-line shell and scripting interface for Drupal, a veritable Swiss Army knife designed to make life easier for those who spend their working hours hacking away at the command prompt. The first step towards enlightenment is getting Drush installed, which, admittedly, can be a bit daunting if you don't have much experience installing command line applications. In this tutorial we'll walk through installing Drush with Composer—the recommended installation process—and then confirm that Drush is running on our computer. We'll also talk about various configuration options you might want to change once you've got it installed. This tutorial assumes you have basic knowledge of navigating and using the command line. If not, check out our Command Line Basics series.
