Yaesu FTdx5000MP: Using DSP to RX a QRP CW Station

I had just worked George, KX0R, a QRP SOTA station in Colorado. Today, band conditions were such that I was receiving George better with my Fritzel FD-4 OCF dipole than with my doublet. My doublet is 250 feet of wire, fed in the center with open-wire line. It normally has tremendous gain on 20m, but alas there are some nulls as a result. With the low noise floor I usually have with the Fritzel FD-4, this presented a great opportunity to show how the DSP in the FTdx5000MP can make even a very weak QRP CW station sound like they are 599 with full-quieting. I hope you find this video informative and helpful. If you would like to help with the cost of this channel, please consider becoming a Patreon by visiting:   / n4hnh   73, de N4HNH
