THIS WEEK IN 1776 | June 26 - July 1, 1776
We celebrate July 4, 1776. We should for that is the day the the Declaration of Independence was first read to the American people. For that celebration to occur, independence must to suggested, then debated, then approved. The declaration would need to be drafted by a committee appointed to do so and that declaration would be be debated and edited. Colonies and delegates who not sure about independence would need to analyze, discuss and debate the cause and risks. To produce and unanimous resolution would require extraordinary skills applied by men we now call our founding fathers. Follow the story, day by day and week by week.
