Wie entstand das Alevitentum?

More than 700,000 Alevis live in Germany, and in Turkey they are the second-largest religious community. Yet far too few Germans know what Alevism actually is. For this reason, I'm dedicating a whole series of videos to it. It begins with a search for its origins: from ancient Turkish steppe religions to wandering mystics and Persian emperors. For those who would like to learn more about the topic, I recommend the book "Turkish Alevis: From the Ottoman Empire to Modern-Day Turkey" by Dr. Burak Gümüs.
