Jane's WWII Fighters: The Experts - HD Widescreen

I am returning to an old favorite of mine. Bought it back when it came out in 1998 and I thought it was so cool. The explosions, the audio and narration was excellent. Aircraft engine sounds are spot on with a rich full sound. I read the Wikipedia site for this game and I'm sorry , I disagree with it. I can't dispute the sales revenue because I have no other sources to reference. This game came out around the time of Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator and apparently beat this game , but only because of name recognition. I remember at the time that because of the EA Jane's series, I was excited to see what they did with the WWII era. And also felt excited that Microsoft was getting into the combat series. But to be honest , Jane's beats Microsoft in my opinion. Compare the sound of the P-51 Mustang in each game. Microsoft's engine is flat sounding. Jane's has period correct music, a very unique museum user interface with references, video, test flying and a way better looking flight model. And of course better and distinct aircraft sounds. This is a modded version which I found at Hip63's games vault https://sites.google.com/view/hip63s-... It has the game and reworked start menu with a bunch of mods, missions, campaigns all bundled together. An easy install to do. Plus includes dgVoodoo2 wrapper with settings already done. It still had the 4:3 aspect ratio style which I'm sure some people like, but I like my widescreen. So I spent a few hours tweaking the dgVoodoo settings until I finally nailed it. My display is 2560 x 1440 at 144hz the aircraft is slightly stretched but I like it better than seeing black borders.
