The southwest is experiencing prolonged heat waves. This is expected to continue for another week or so. The rest of the country is enjoying typical midsummer weather with pleasant nights and no humidity. This humidity will arrive temporarily around the middle of next week with showers and thunderstorms. After these, it will cool down. The details of when, how, and how long this will last are, of course, still open!
