Thousands sleeping in a Vietnamese church at 2AM — this was something I never expected to see. Our pilgrimage group started from Tân Định Church, a Ho Chi Minh City church, and traveled nearly 300 km to a Catholic pilgrimage site in Vietnam. We arrived at around 2AM, thinking we would find a quiet place to rest before morning Mass. But when I stepped inside, the Catholic church was already full. Thousands of pilgrims were sleeping on the floor, quietly waiting for Mass to begin six hours later. I arrived at 2AM… and the church was already full. Six hours before Mass, thousands were already there. This religious gathering showed me a very deep and emotional side of faith in Vietnam. Many people visited a Ho Chi Minh City church before joining this long journey, and together we came here to pray, rest, and wait for the morning Mass.
