Biochar: A Sustainable Approach for Improving Plant Growth. Biochar, a natural solution to reducing global warming. Biochar, the charcoal-like material sometimes touted as a miracle cure for global warming, might first gain economic traction as a weapon against local air pollution. Biochar is produced when plant matter (leaves, trunks, roots), manure, or other organic material is heated in a zero- or low-oxygen environment. The carbon the organic material had previously absorbed via photosynthesis is thus captured in solid form; the resulting biochar can take the shape of sticks, pellets, or dust. When biochar is inserted in the soil, the effect is to remove carbon from the atmosphere and store it underground, where it does not contribute to global warming. Biochar also brings agricultural benefits by boosting soil’s fertility and its ability to withstand drought or flooding; it can also rid soil of heavy metals and other pollutants. Biochar is made up of elements such as carbon, hydrogen, sulfur, oxygen, and nitrogen as well as minerals in the ash fraction. It is produced during pyrolysis, thermal decomposition of biomass in an oxygen-limited environment. Biochar is black, highly porous, and finely grained, with lightweight, large surface area and pH, all of which have a positive effect on its application to soil. To address the major concern on the quality of agricultural soil degradation, biochar is applied to the soil in order to enhance its quality. Biochar is stabilized biomass, which may be mixed into the soil with intentional changes in the properties of the soil’s atmosphere to increase crop productivity and to mitigate pollution. The raw material (biomass) used and processing parameters dictate the properties of the biochar. పంట భూముల్లో బొగ్గు వాడకంతో అద్భుత ఫలితాలు ( బయోచార్ తయారీ ) పంట భూముల్లో బొగ్గును వెదజల్లితే రైతులు మంచి ఫలితాలు సాధించవచ్చని శాస్తీయ ఫలితాలు రుజువుచేస్తున్నాయి. వ్యవసాయ వ్యర్ధాల నుండి తయారుచేసే బొగ్గును బయోచార్ అంటారు. ఎటువంటి వ్యవసాయ వ్యర్ధాల నుండి అయినా బయోచార్ తయారుచేసుకోవచ్చు. దీన్ని వార్షిక పంటల్లో పంట విత్తే ముందు ఆఖరి దుక్కిలో లేదా దమ్ములో ఎకరాకుు 250 నుండి 300 కిలోలు వెదజల్లుకోవచ్చు. పండ్ల తోటల్లో చెట్టుకు 3 కిలోల వరకు బయోచార్ ను వేయవచ్చు. దీని వాడకం వల్ల నేలలో సేంద్రీయ కర్భన శాతం పెరుగుతుంది. నేలలో బయోచార్ వేయడం వల్ల, ఇది మొక్కలకు మేలు చేసే సూక్ష్మజీవులకు ఆహారంగా ఉపయోగపడి వీటి సంఖ్య పెరుగుతుంది. సూక్ష్మజీవుల సంచారం పెరగటం వల్ల, ఇవి మొక్కలకు అందుబాటులో లేని పోషకాలు, సూక్ష్మ పోషకాలను అందుబాటులోకి తెస్తాయి. దీనివల్ల రైతు ఎరువులకోసం పెట్టే ఖర్చు తగ్గుతుంది. దాదాపు 40 శాతం ఖర్చులు తగ్గించుకోవచ్చని శాస్త్రీయంగా రుజువైంది. భారతదేశంలో ఏటా లక్షల టన్నుల వ్యవసాయ వ్యర్థాలను వృధాగా తగలబెట్టేస్తున్నారు. దీనివల్ల పర్యావరణ కాలుష్యం నానాటికీ పెరిగిపోతోంది. ప్రస్థుతం సేంద్రీయ వ్యవసాయాన్ని ప్రోత్సహిస్తున్న నేపధ్యంలో కర్బన శాతం తక్కువగా వుండే మన భూముల్లో అంత మంచి ఫలితాలు వచ్చే అవకాశాలు తక్కువ. బయోచార్ వాడకం వల్ల భూమిలో కర్భన శాతం పెరుగుతుంది. అటు పర్వావరణ కాలుష్యం తగ్గుతుంది. బయోచార్ తయారీ విధానం, ఉపయోగాలు గురించి ఈ స్టోరీలో తెలుసుకుందాం. #karshakamitra #biocharpreparation #usesofbiochar Facebook : https://mtouch.facebook.com/maganti.v...
