"In 1974, the superiority of modern socialist agriculture was once again evident. Scientific and technological progress dictated the pace in the fields of our republic more than ever before. With whole-crop harvesting, the harvest campaign began up to two weeks earlier in many places. This represents a significant time saving for adhering to all agrotechnical deadlines for the harvest and subsequent autumn work. At the same time, new possibilities for stubble cultivation were created. This method is gaining increasing importance, especially in crop rotations dominated by grain. However, the rising demands of feeding the population require more than conventional methods. Higher yields, better quality, and lower costs necessitate new standards of intensification. Workers in state-owned enterprises, cooperative farmers in the agricultural production cooperatives (LPGs), employees of the district agricultural machinery depots, and the grain processing collectives all contributed to this effort. The close alliance between the working class and the cooperative farmers once again proved the power of socialist cooperation.
