The Hardest Days Yet on the Camino del Norte — and a Surprise That Saved Us!

Days 3 & 4 of taking my dad on the Camino del Norte and the walking is starting to feel real. The albergues along this stretch are spaced far apart, which means some of our longest days yet — and after three back-to-back days on our feet, my dad is definitely starting to feel it. But the Camino has a way of surprising you: we stumbled upon an unexpected albergue that let us cut our day short, and honestly? It felt like a small miracle. Between the two days we tackled a ton of elevation, walked through the stunning city of San Sebastián, and kept pushing through the hills of Northern Spain. It’s challenging, it’s beautiful, and we’re still somehow having the best time — eating incredible food, soaking in the countryside, and figuring out this whole father-daughter pilgrimage thing one step at a time. If you’re new here — my dad and I are walking the Camino del Norte, ~850 km across Northern Spain. Come walk with us. 🐚 📌 WATCH THE SERIES ▶ Episode 1:    • I took my Dad on a 500-mile walk across Sp...   ▶ Episode 2: You’re here! 🌿 FOLLOW ALONG 📸 Instagram:   / laurenroerick   📬 Newsletter: http://www.laurenroerick.com 🎥 YouTube: ‪@LaurenRoerick‬ 💬 Have you walked the Camino del Norte — or dreamed about it?
