⁴ᴷ Ehime: Yawatahama Station (愛媛県: 八幡浜駅) - Japan Walking Tour (January, 2025)

I’ve resumed the Shikoku city tour that I had to abandon last December. I took a ferry directly from Tokyo to Tokushima, then traveled through Kōchi Prefecture and have now arrived in Ehime Prefecture. Yawatahama City has a population of about 30,000, so it’s by no means large, yet it boasts a fairly impressive covered shopping arcade. I imagine it might have prospered thanks to mandarin orange cultivation and fishing, but I’m not entirely sure.
