Genesis - Live in Rome - September 7th, 1982

Genesis Venue: Palaeur Location: Rome, Italy Date: September 7th, 1982 Audience recording (merge) Audio Quality: A/A-/B+ Thumbnail photos taken by Stefano Tarquini The first of two showings in Rome. If you ask me, I believe this must hold the title for the greatest Genesis crowd of all time. Both new and old songs alike, they are sure to show the band their appreciation, but the absolute peak of it all has to be during Supper's Ready. The entire room joins in to sing along to Lover's Leap, so much so that Phil ends up letting them completely take over the harmony section. They applaud for all of the keyboard and guitar solos, and even after Phil does a mighty long sustain on the 'he is you' line of How Dare I Be So Beautiful?, they make sure to let him know they're impressed. The jam spot to The Lamb also happens to be the longest version of all time, and if there's a rendition that would qualify as the finest one, this could be it. Phil's voice may not always be at its best tonight, but nobody cares - this is a legendary performance. This upload is using a merge I created - the bulk of it has been taped on an wonderful sounding, albeit sometimes overblown tape, but it misses some of the speeches, as well as all of Who Dunnit?, so that's been patched with two other lower quality sources. 0:00 Walk on 0:55 Dance on a Volcano 5:50 Behind the Lines 11:26 Follow You Follow Me 19:04 Dodo / Lurker 26:28 Abacab 37:48 Supper's Ready 1:03:23 Misunderstanding 1:07:29 Man on the Corner 1:12:11 Who Dunnit? 1:19:18 In the Cage 1:27:04 The Cinema Show 1:29:56 The Colony of Slippermen 1:31:10 Afterglow 1:35:45 Turn It On Again 1:41:55 Drum Duet 1:44:20 Los Endos 1:51:06 The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway 1:58:43 Watcher of the Skies 2:01:57 I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe)
