I Can't Believe The Fujifilm X-T30iii is Back!!

When Yuji Igarashi told me his favourite Fujifilm X Series camera was the X-T30 back in 2022 at Fujifilm X-Summit NYC, I knew that this little camera had a special place in the Fujifilm line-up. True to the APS-C format, the X-T30 series has always been compact, lightweight, and had all the dials and buttons that most stills photographers wanted. Having a clever pop-up flash was a bonus. When Fujifilm announced the X-T50 back in 2025, I thought for sure the X-T30 was dead, and all we had left was the X-M5 as the last affordable X Series camera for under $1000. However, when they announced the X-T30iii with barely any physical changes, I was super happy, and I'm sure Yuji was too. For those of us who loved the previous X-T30, basically we're getting a processor and firmware update, including all the latest film simulations and autofocus upgrades. The left top dial was changed from DRIVE to Film Simulations and custom settings, which I feel is appropriate for this prosumer level camera. Besides that, same body, same sensor, same size, same weight, same battery, but improved processor and firmware. Even the price is basically the same, if you consider inflation and the current tariff situation in the USA. And the new XC13-33mm f/3..5-6.3 OIS is actually pretty good. I won't be doing a long term test on this, nor did I post many images because we've seen this same sensor since the X-T3, and I've seen it plenty of times via my X-Pro3 and X-T4. It's a great sensor matched to an upgraded processor. Just go out and shoot.
