The tutorial covers the creation of polygon, point, and line layers, and the addition and calculation of values in specific fields. The example used is the creation of a geopackage for a polytechnic university, where layers for points of interest such as cafeterias, important buildings, and entrances to the institution will be drawn. It begins by importing a reference satellite image, establishing the UTM coordinate reference system for the layers, and generating a new layer for the cafeterias with fields for the name and type of food offered. Likewise, polygon layers are created for the institution's buildings and lines for the roads, each with corresponding name fields. The video continues with the editing of each layer, adding points for the cafeterias, outlining polygons for the buildings, and drawing lines for the roads. The importance of visually organizing the layers to avoid unwanted overlaps is highlighted. Finally, it shows how to add additional fields to store X and Y coordinates for the cafeterias, and how to automatically populate these fields with the corresponding data. Similarly, viewers are encouraged to add and complete fields for road lengths and the area and perimeter of buildings.
