Is the 2025 S95 FQD OLED TV from Samsung versus the LG G5 coming from, well,(...) LG. But they're using a W OLED panel and this picture actually comes from the AV forums review. So that's what we're gonna do and I'll play some other footage for you guys of matte coatings as well, especially on the monitor side. But I think I need to make this video of matte versus glossy. Which one is better for TVs? Should you buy a matte QD OLED or a glossy WOLED so we can finally put this to rest? Because I think there's a lot of misinformation when it comes to this. I mean, at first glance, you might think, hey, this looks terrible. And you're right, it absolutely, it doesn't look good in a bright room. Point blank, it will not look good. This matte coating on the S95 F and the S95D, I know they've claimed to have made some improvements on the S95 F and depending on what you want in terms of improvements, that could technically be true but the main issue remains of if you have ambient light in your room, not only will QD OLED be slightly magenta due to the properties of QD OLED right now, which will hopefully be fixed by either 2026 or 2027 but I can't confirm at this point in time. But on top of that, the matte coating actually makes it significantly worse as it does actually diffuse any light across the entire screen rather than giving you a direct reflection. Now in an ideal world, you would have a glossy coating with an anti-reflective treatment that would actually reduce the intensity of those reflections while retaining the maximum contrast and depth that the, well, TV can produce. And unfortunately, no matter what you hear, the S95 F is still going to have this problem and it's really not gonna look much better than the S95D as unfortunately using a matte coating, when you have a light in your room, this will be an issue. There is no way around it. This is simple physics. It cannot be resolved. It will hurt the image quality. That's just something you're gonna have to deal with.
