After its reconstruction, it was run by a family until 2014. After the family abandoned the shrine for mysterious reasons, it remained abandoned, and its ruins, or rather the buildings and altars that have not yet collapsed, can be admired amidst a bamboo forest in Kyoto. It's a place with a very special atmosphere and also not entirely safe, as poisonous snakes live there.
