Psychosomatic Disorder is a mental illness that has all the symptoms of a physical illness. However, all tests used to diagnose physical illnesses, such as laboratory tests, CT scans, MRIs, gastroscopy, etc., often come back normal. This means that even though the patient's symptoms are physical, no physical illness is evident. Psycho means mental and somatic means physical. This means that the patient's suffering is physical, but its cause is mental. This illness can affect almost any part of the body. People with psychosomatic disorders frequently visit doctors and specialists of various disciplines, but when they fail to find a physical diagnosis, they become frustrated. It typically begins in the 20s and 30s. It is prevalent in 7% of the general population, meaning there are approximately 110 million patients in our country. Approximately 30% of patients in any medical outpatient department suffer from this illness. If it is not treated properly, it can lead to mental disorders like anxiety, depression, stressful life, trauma etc. There are four types of Psychosomatic Disorders. 1. Somatization Disorder 2.
