There are several techniques that help compensate for the potential difference in human and canine speed, strength, or weakness between dogs and their handlers (handlers). But what has driven the popularity of this sport more than anything else is the fun that both handler and dog have. Agility was created by dog trainer Peter Meanwell in the early 1970s.
