The ‘Double Double’ series from Dewar’s marries incredibly well-aged whiskies with finishing in three different types of sherry casks for each expression. The 21 year old is finished in Oloroso. The 27 year is finished in Palo Cortado. The 32 year old is finished in Pedro Ximenez. It is very difficult to warp your head around these expressions from Dewar’s if you’ve only ever had the white label. These whiskies are completely different beasts! But are they good?
