WHY I KEEP GOING BACK TO JAMAICA

This was my third trip to Jamaica this year, and every visit reminds me why this island will always hold a special place in my heart. This trip began with a very special occasion—the wedding of a close family friend we've known for more than 10 years. From there, we spent time reconnecting with family, visiting my brother, my sister, longtime friends, and creating unforgettable memories with our daughters. Along the way we explored Kingston, visited Emancipation Park, stopped at PriceSmart, enjoyed ice cream with the girls, and even had the unexpected opportunity to meet one of Jamaica's legendary musicians. Before heading to Riu Aquarelle in Trelawny, we stopped at my wife's childhood home to spend time with her brother—a reminder that home is more than a place; it's the people who make it special. For me, Jamaica is much more than beautiful beaches and warm weather. It's where my story began. Although I've lived in Canada for the past 28 years, every visit reminds me of the importance of family, friendships, slowing down, and appreciating the moments that truly matter. I hope you enjoy coming along on this journey with us. If this video reminds you of home—or inspires you to reconnect with the people and places that matter most—I'd love to hear your story in the comments. If you enjoy honest conversations about life, family, personal growth, Jamaica, Canada, and building a meaningful future, I'd be honored if you subscribed to Island Mindset Studio.
