⁴ᴷ⁶⁰ Driver’s View: Engelberg – Luzern | Mountain Descent to Lake Lucerne!

Experience the full journey from Engelberg to Luzern aboard the Zentralbahn Luzern–Engelberg Line, filmed from the train's front window in real time and without commentary. This spectacular metre-gauge railway connects the city of Lucerne (Luzern) with the famous mountain resort of Engelberg, traversing some of the most beautiful scenery in central Switzerland. Departing from Engelberg, the skirts through the mountains, before diving into a steep tunnel section and winding through through lakeside landscapes, and charming villages. One of the route's most impressive features is the Engelberg Tunnel, opened in 2010 to replace a much steeper alignment. The tunnel allows trains to reach Engelberg via a modern rack railway section while maintaining the dramatic ascent into the high Alpine valley beneath Mount Titlis. Filmed from a forward-facing perspective, this video captures the full atmosphere of the route, including the sounds of the train, the transition from lowland Switzerland to the Alps, and the spectacular approach into Engelberg.
