The Abundance Church in Dali District, Taichung, has been accused by multiple members of brainwashing them into making donations under various pretexts, amounting to tens of millions of NT dollars. Some members have even written "teachers' guides" instructing members on how to transfer insurance policies and inheritances to the church. The former senior pastor, surnamed Chen, was also accused of promoting products during sermons, and his daughter sold socks at the church, all without providing receipts. In response to these accusations, the Abundance Church issued a statement saying it has launched an investigation to trace the flow of funds, and the board of directors has been completely re-elected.
