Once a day? Twice a day? The real question is whether your sex drive feels normal for you. Don’t compare yourself to your buddy, social media, or some movie star. Compare you to you. Has your drive changed? Is it affecting your confidence? Is it affecting your relationship? Are you less interested than you used to be? That’s where the conversation starts. A healthy drive is important because it can be a sign of what’s going on physically, mentally, and emotionally. If your libido has dropped, it could mean something is off with your sleep, stress, hormones, nutrition, or overall health. And one of the biggest indicators is morning wood. If Big Al isn’t regularly standing at attention when you wake up, your body may be waving a red flag. A lot of guys immediately assume low libido means low testosterone, and it might. Low T is a real issue for men today, especially with sedentary lifestyles, poor food, bad sleep, and environmental factors. But it’s not always testosterone. It could be stress. It could be anxiety. It could be terrible sleep. It could be your thyroid, estrogen, or something else entirely. That’s why blood work matters. If you don’t know what’s going on inside your body, you’re guessing. Your waistline also plays a huge role. As body fat goes up, testosterone can drop, estrogen can rise, and metabolic health can suffer. I experienced this personally. After losing about 15 pounds and dialing in my lifestyle, my sex drive skyrocketed. My testosterone improved, my energy improved, and I felt better across the board. Bad sleep is another libido killer. Staying up late, scrolling, drinking too much caffeine, or using alcohol to unwind can destroy your rest, and when your sleep is trash, your drive is usually trash too. You’re not going to feel energized, confident, or interested when your body is running on fumes. Stress and anxiety can also crush your desire. Money problems, relationship issues, career pressure, and constant worry make it hard to feel sexy or focused on intimacy. Stress can kill your health, and it can absolutely kill your libido. You need healthy outlets like exercise, meditation, better habits, and actually handling the things that are weighing on you. Another major issue is p. A lot of guys don’t want to admit it, but too much p can condition your brain to need more extreme stimulation. Then real intimacy with a real partner starts to feel less exciting. If you want to want your partner more, stop feeding your brain fake stimulus and put that energy where it belongs. As men age, drive naturally changes. In your 20s, it’s typically high. In your 30s, most guys are still very active. In your 40s and beyond, testosterone may start dropping, life gets busier, stress increases, and responsibilities pile up. But aging does not mean you should have no desire at all. Bottom line: what’s normal depends on you. But if your drive has changed, disappeared, or started hurting your confidence or relationship, don’t ignore it. Get your blood work done, look at your lifestyle, fix your sleep, manage your stress, clean up your health, and stop comparing yourself to everybody else. You deserve to feel good, look good, and perform at your best.
