While the housewife was picking ivy gourds (kovakka) from there, she stepped on something and felt a strange coldness. Looking down, she was terrified to see a dangerous viper. It was a narrow and highly fortunate escape from a major danger. A viper had been spotted in this courtyard previously as well. Upon receiving the information, Vava Suresh arrived at the spot and captured the snake; it was a viper that had recently given birth. Following this, he also captured another snake that was hiding under a cupboard inside another house.
