Examining the “Black Hole" Island… Vostok Island

Some online have called this island a "Black Hole", because of its distinctive dark look on Google Maps. People have attributed its look to Pisonia trees, to intentional obscuring, or just plain mapping errors. In this video, I use some primary and secondary sources to explore and examine Vostok Island, a small uninhabited island part of the Southern Line Islands of Kiribati and learn about its history and geography. I hope you enjoy me going back to my old style of videos! I love making this style of content and teaching people to use sources to directly find out information about a place, instead of only tertiary sources. Also, these videos are more efficient for me to make, and I can make more content for you all!
