Repair/Restoration: Atari 400 Part 1

I never owned one of these, though I did visit someone who had one and they were playing Star Raiders. I spent a good few hours playing that and remember it was quite good. When I happened across this one on eBay with cartridges, boxed paddles and the manuals in untested condition, I decided to go for it. I tracked down a PSU, two 'untested' tape decks and some cassettes so lets see if I can get this working. While I do have the Star Raiders cartridge, I don't have the pad yet so I'll need to wait a bit to play that unfortunately!
