One S Upper Craigs Creek to Pumpkins Ridge

I had a great night’s rest tenting near Upper Craigs Creek. I needed it because today started off with a grueling 1,300-foot elevation gain on some steep, rugged terrain. I took a brief detour to visit a memorial for Audie Leon Murphy, the most decorated World War II veteran. I also came across a pretty big snake (I can’t stand snakes) and had some trouble finding a good water source. Overall, the mileage, the temperature, and the climb made for a pretty exhausting day, but I was finally able to set up camp just before sundown.
