Purushottam month 2026 has a rare coincidence — this time the month of Jyeshtha coincides with Adhik Maas, which is happening after almost 27 years. Therefore, this year the month of Jyeshtha has a full 60 days. It is written in the scriptures that in this month, reciting Vishnu Sahasranama, Shrimad Bhagwat and Geeta, doing charity and observing Ekadashi-Purnima fast gives thousand times the benefits. New marriage, house warming, mundan, yagyopaveet and starting a new business are prohibited in this month – because the Sun does not change any zodiac sign in this month, that is, there is no Sankranti.
