Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman introduced the PM-AAS rice cultivation method as a strategy to accelerate the transformation of modern agriculture while improving farmer welfare. In a meeting with heads of agricultural offices and agricultural extension workers (PPL) across Indonesia, Amran stated that the method has been tested on 1,600 hectares of land, with productivity reaching 9 to 12 tons of grain per hectare. According to Amran, implementing the PM-AAS method has the potential to increase farmers' net income from around IDR 5 million to more than IDR 16 million per month per hectare.
