He is a renowned reciter of the Quran (qāriʾ), and is an honorary member of Naqabāt Qurrāʾ al-Quran (Guild of Quran Reciters) in Cairo. He is the head of Mahad al-Zahra and administers a number of socio-economic institutions run by the Dawoodi Bohra community.
