Israel's entry to the 1990 Eurovision Song Contest. Rita - "Shara barechovot" ("שרה ברחובות") A powerful and emotional song with an even more emotional performance from Rita, one of Israel's biggest stars. I adore this song and its sad and colourful lyrics. The end of this performance alone has become classic. Sadly, Rita's effort was vastly underappreciated by the juries, but the song and her performance had the last laugh. Like Israel's former entrant Yardena Arazi, Rita started her career when doing her national service.
