La Guérison des blessures de l'âme | Bergeron Banza | MENJ ISTM

If your heart is sick, wounded, your whole life will be affected. Just as you can have a sick body and still function well, if your soul is sick, everything falls apart. All negative emotions, as well as untreated inner wounds, will bear destructive fruit; they will damage us, hinder our potential, and prevent God's plans from being fulfilled. Jesus knows your poignant suffering hidden in your heart. He knows the shame, the rejection you've endured, the regrets. He has seen the tears flow so many times in the midst of your cruel nights. What is this secret wound you hide, this suffering you desperately try to keep buried because otherwise, you know, the pain would be unbearable? I too have known abandonment, rejection, unjust accusation, betrayal. I have wept for people I had sincerely loved who turned their backs on me for no reason, abandoning me to my immense sorrow. But Jesus knows, too. He went through all human suffering because He wanted to endure what you feel. He knows the gnawing pain of the soul, the clash of questions crowding our minds, the oppression of "whys," and the onslaught of "if onlys." He knows your courage to face it all, and it is not His will that you carry these burdens indefinitely, for the Son of Man came to destroy the evil that consumes us, break the chains that hold us captive, and restore our souls. David, a man who carried so much disappointment in his heart, understood the Savior's anointed ministry. He cried out, "He restores my soul!" Your deep-seated, untreated inner wounds will dominate you, secretly control you, and hinder God's glorious plans. You must deal with these things before they ruin you.
