Ishizuchi, one of Japan's 100 Famous Mountains and a sacred peak in Shikoku, a place I'd always thought was "too far away"! This time, I took a day trip using the "Orange Ferry" departing overnight from Osaka South Port. The ship was luxurious, like something out of the Titanic (!), and we passed under the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge at 11 PM! I enjoyed a romantic ferry ride while admiring the beautiful night view. Since I traveled while sleeping, I arrived in Ehime Prefecture at 6 AM, completely refreshed! From there, I took a convenient bus to Mt. Ishizuchi. I was a little nervous about my first solo trip, but hearing the sound of conch shells echoing through the mountains, meeting so many warm-hearted people on the trail, and experiencing these once-in-a-lifetime encounters was truly enjoyable and created wonderful memories!
