POL-KLE: Kerken - Serious traffic accident in Aldekerk / Car driver dies at the scene Kerken (ots) - On Thursday (March 12, 2026), at approximately 8:40 a.m., a serious traffic accident occurred on Issumer Straße in Kerken-Aldekerk, resulting in one fatality. According to current information, the accident occurred during an overtaking maneuver involving a truck. The car, driven by a 55-year-old woman from Geldern, who was traveling from Sevelen towards Kerken, veered off the road to the left and collided with a tree. The emergency physician at the scene could only pronounce the woman dead. The driver of the other vehicle, a 67-year-old man from Issum, sustained minor injuries. The Kleve District Police Department's traffic accident investigation team was dispatched to the scene. The police victim support unit informed the woman's family.
