MLM HORROR STORIES #2: VICTIMS OF AMWAY PYRAMID SCHEME | KIDNAPPED BY AMWAY | ANTIMLM

#amwaypyramidscheme #antimlm #mlmhorrorstories The legal pyramid scheme we are talking about today is Amway. I'll be sharing two MLM horror stories that are sure to make your skin crawl. In the first story, a family is kidnapped and lured to an Amway meeting where they are separated from their 5 year old child. In the second story, a woman recounts her experience while she was in Amway and then also talks about how her life has changed as a result of it. She explains why she quit Amway. Since both stories are quite long, I won't be showing pictures of the text on screen. If you have a story you would like to share with me, please feel free to email me at [email protected]. The company was founded in 1959 by Jay Van Andel and Richard DeVos and is based in Ada, Michigan. Amway and its sister companies under Alticor reported sales of $8.4 billion in 2019. Amway has been investigated in various countries and by institutions such as the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for alleged pyramid scheme practices, but it has never been found guilty, though it has paid tens of millions of dollars to settle these suits.[8][9][10][11][12][13]" - - - - - [ From The Case (for and) against Multi-level Marketing by Jon M. Taylor, MBA, Ph. D., Consumer Awareness Institute] - - - - - - "The loss rate for MLMs is at least 99%. This means that less than one in 100 MLM participants make a clear profit, and at least 99 out of 100 participants actually lose money! In fact, classic no-product schemes are ten to one hundred times as likely to result in profits as are product-based pyramid schemes, or MLMs." - - - - - [ From Great Expectations by Charles Dickens ] - - - - - - "Take nothing on its looks; take everything on evidence. There's no better rule."
