Le chantier méconnu qui va changer nos voyages en train

We investigated to understand how this project could unlock the future of French rail! 20 kilometers from Bordeaux, LISEA is building a still little-known but essential site: a Maintenance and Storage Facility (SMR). This is where trains will be able to be stored, cleaned, maintained, and repaired before returning to service. And the stakes are enormous: today, the South Europe Atlantic high-speed line (LGV Sud Europe Atlantique) is operating at less than half its capacity, while 2 million passengers are left stranded each year due to a lack of trains. With this first independent rail maintenance facility in France, LISEA hopes to remove one of the major obstacles to French rail service: enabling more operators to run more trains. And this is already the case, as Velvet, France's leading independent rail company, will rely on LISEA's SMR (Maintenance and Storage Facility) for the maintenance and storage of its 12 Alstom Avelia Horizon trainsets, which will operate on the Atlantic line starting in 2028!
