After much planning, I finally got around to trying out the legendary bus fleet from Tanah Karo, the Pinem. This bus is famous for its extreme routes, traversing unusual off-road routes along the Riau mainland. This time, Irja Nailal Ulya and I chose to travel to Kota Tengah, Rokan Hulu, Riau Province. The Pinem bus serves this route via the Duri-Sontang route, which is notorious for frequent flooding and severe damage. In fact, a few days before the trip began, the Sontang route in Bonai Darussalam sub-district was cut off for five days. Many vehicles were stranded. How was our trip this time?
