This lightweight and safe helmet is an excellent option for confidently tackling Enduro and DH races and training. The AirDrop Mips is a full-face helmet truly designed by and for the most hardcore riders seeking premium protection. It's manufactured using In-Mold technology, where the outer shell and the internal EPS structure are seamlessly integrated. Add to this the fact that the weight we measured on the scales for the S/M size we tested is only 819 grams (29g more than the manufacturer's claim), making it possibly one of the lightest full-face helmets on the market. It's worth noting the EVA inserts on the lower part of the helmet, which provide an additional area of ​​protection against impacts to the collarbone in the event of an accident. MIPS® Protection This ABUS AirDrop helmet features another brain protection system, MIPS®, designed to reduce rotational motion transferred to the brain from angled impacts. As you saw in the video, it consists of a PVC mesh that covers the entire head and antibacterial padding, adjusted via the Zoom Ace FF, a micro-adjustment dial located at the back of the head. We have to admit that what clearly sets the AirDrop apart from other helmets on the market is that it feels like you're not wearing anything at all. Thanks to its special design, it achieves exceptional comfort, and the ventilation system is superb. It boasts no fewer than 11 air intakes and 6 exhaust vents, and the difference is significant. Furthermore, the Ambient Sound Channels (ASC) located throughout the helmet's interior enhance spatial awareness and prevent the rider from feeling isolated. In terms of ergonomics, the helmet fits perfectly and is very comfortable thanks to its hypoallergenic padding, especially the cheek pads, which include an external plastic mesh for better ventilation. Two additional cheek pads are included, which are attached and removed with two integrated plastic clips. The chin straps are also fully padded and end in a secure double D-ring buckle. The visor is adjustable and can be completely removed from the helmet using the two Allen screws on the sides. The central adjustment mechanism is also removed, which not only allows you to position the visor correctly but also secures it to the helmet. Finally, the AirDrop is perfectly designed for wearing a goggle mask or, if you prefer, glasses. The AirDrop MIPS full-face helmet comes pre-wired for the Quin chip, a small device that detects damage in the event of an accident. Thanks to the ABUS app, this device can send an emergency alert to up to three pre-programmed contacts, also indicating the exact geolocation of the accident site. The ABUS Quin chip is sold separately and is not included with the helmet.
