PHILIPPINES VLOG EP 9 | I Lived in the Philippines for 23 Year But This Was My First Time in Boracay

Hi there! Welcome back to another vlog! ☀️🏝️ In today's video, Brad and I are finally visiting Boracay for the very first time! It honestly never occurred to me to visit Boracay when I was still living in the Philippines. I lived there for 23 years, yet I never really explored my own country as much as I wish I had. After moving abroad and meeting people from all over the world, I realized how many of them had actually been to Boracay before me! Whenever I'd mention that I'm Filipino, they'd often tell me about their trip to Boracay, and I always found it a little embarrassing to admit that I'd never been myself. Now that I have the chance to come home and visit the Philippines again, I've been trying to experience places I've always wanted to see instead of taking them for granted. Originally, I wanted to visit Palawan since it's been on my bucket list for years. But after looking at flights, we realized that flying there would cost almost as much as our flights from Australia, so we decided to save that trip for another time. While searching for alternatives, we found really affordable flights to Boracay. We later learned it was because it was lumot (seaweed) season! Thankfully, there wasn't actually much seaweed on the beach during our stay. We did, however, experience a tropical storm, so we didn't get to swim as much as we had hoped. For this trip, we stayed at Henann Lagoon Resort based on my best friend's recommendation. Unfortunately, our experience wasn't the best—from check-in to the overall service, there were quite a few things that could have been improved. Maybe it's because I work in hotels myself, so I naturally notice the little details. Either way, we still made the most of our first day and were excited to finally experience Boracay together.
