As long as the Ganga flows and the Himalayas stand in silent majesty, India will remember her indomitable son — Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee. On this Paschim Banga Dibas, we salute the man whose roar shattered silence, whose courage defied compromise. When others bowed, he stood — for the rights of Hindus, for the soul of Bengal, for the sanctity of our soil. On 20th June 1947, he wrenched West Bengal from the jaws of Jinnah’s design. Through unflinching resolve, he crushed the illusion of a ‘United Bengal’ and carved out a homeland where our civilizational spirit could endure. He preserved our heritage, our language, our identity — as Hindus, as Bengalis.
