Canada Vote 1980
Two segments - the first from December 1979 showing the fall of Joe Clark's minority Progressive Conservative government as members of Social Credit abstain and the Liberals and the NDP join forces to affirm no confidence in the budget put forth by John Crosbie. Brian Mulroney within a few years would force Clark out of his leadership, but in the meantime Clark took the sudden election call as a chance to obtain a majority, while Pierre Trudeau, who had resigned as Liberal leader after being defeated by Clark in May, decided to come back; he became prime minister again in February 1980, in time to fight for the Non side in the upcoming referendum battle in Quebec.
