It’s Not Too Late | April Nading | TEDxUSI
Is feeling like you’re too old ever justification for giving up? In her talk, April Nading revisits her seven-year journey of learning to handstand starting with a promise she made to herself at the age of 50. Through her story, filled with setbacks, frustrations and eventual victory, Nading communicates that personal accomplishment after a long journey is what makes the struggle worth it, and life is too short to think that a challenge is too late to overcome. April Nading (aka The Handstanding Grandma) began her handstanding journey at the age of 50 when she decided to learn how to kick up on her hands away from the wall — even though she’d never done a handstand in her life. Thus began a seven-year quest that included highs, lows, and overcoming numerous setbacks (rotator cuff surgery, two hip replacements), that culminated with the accomplishment of learning to handstand. Her presentation “It’s Not Too Late” is humorous and motivational, and inspires others who are struggling to pursue their own “later in life” passions. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
