Living Up to Her Name ⭐️ Castor Two Weeks Later
Part 1 was filmed over two weeks ago but only released recently. After spending several hours with Nebula and her newborn filly that day, I left wondering how she would do. For such a tiny horse, she packed an awful lot of adventure into her first day of life, and the challenges she faced stayed with me long after the encounter ended. Because of that, I chose to wait before sharing the footage. I wanted to see her again and make sure she was doing alright before telling the rest of her story. Over the following two weeks, I continued checking the area, hoping to find her and Poseidon's band again. These wild horses are elusive, and sightings are never guaranteed. More than once I came home empty-handed, wondering where the Hillside Bandits had disappeared to this time. That's why I was so thrilled when I finally came across them again. After that first encounter, I couldn't stop thinking about the little filly. I slept on it that night and decided to call her Castor. The name wasn't chosen because of her colouring or markings. It was chosen because of what she showed me that day. Despite being only hours old, she faced challenge after challenge and never gave up. She kept trying, kept learning, and kept following her mother through some incredibly difficult country. Today, everything looks different. Not only has Castor changed, but so has the world around her. The steep mountainsides and obstacles of her first day have given way to green meadows, spring grass, and warmer days. The tiny foal I worried about is now stronger, more confident, and growing quickly. Watching her rest in the meadow, jump over fallen logs, and stay close to Nebula was a reminder of just how quickly wild foals must adapt. Finding her again healthy, growing, and thriving made the name feel even more fitting. In only two short weeks, Castor has gone from simply surviving to truly thriving. ♥️ Thank you for watching and supporting Alberta's wild horses. 🐴 Alberta Wild Horses Canada 🌲 Filmed respectfully in their natural habitat No music.
