Angleterre : le projet qui inspire la Normandie

In Devon, England, the lower Otter Valley at Budleigh Salterton has regained its estuarine character after three years of work and a €30 million investment. The project, led by Sam Bridgewater (Clinton Devon Estates) and Mike Williams for the UK Environment Agency, spanned fifteen years, despite initial resistance. Otters, beavers, egrets, and oystercatchers have recolonized the valley. Bill Rope's cricket club, once regularly flooded, has relocated to higher ground and is now attracting new members. A project cited as an example for the Normandy coast, where a similar project is underway in Quiberville-sur-Mer, as part of the Basse Saâne 2050 initiative. Report by: F. Pesquet, F. Bollez, A.
