CST Studio for Electronic Design: Electromagnetic Compatibility - Webinar
This Simulia CST Studio three part series shows the importance of electromagnetic simulation when designing electronic devices. Electronic devices are integrated into many product designs. From household appliances, automobiles, medical equipment, aircraft, mobile devices, and more, the electronic circuits are becoming very complex. These circuits must work in conjunction with other electronic devices while keeping signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI). There are also electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards that must be met. The PCB boards within the electronic devices will create heat and need to be cooled. Simulation of these designs using CST Studio Suite in the development stage will identify problems that can be corrected prior to the start of manufacture. In part three, we are using the CST Studio suite to Electromagnetic Compatibility with imported EDA PCB designs covering these topics: • Why is it needed to simulate your product including PCB at the design stage before the FCC Test? • Understand how SI/PI influence EMI and use a quick Design Rule Check to get rid of SI/EMI (Electromagnetic Interferences) issues even without simulation. • A practical case: Conducted Emissions of PCB having on board a SMPS (switch-mode power supply) Presenters: Jeff Lendermon, Sr. Specialist at GoEngineer Emmanuel Leroux, World Wide Technical Sales Director, Dassault Systemes 2:53 What is CST Studio Suite? 7:44 What is EMC? 9:16 Physical Testing vs. Virtual Testing 12:45 Electronic design analysis workflow 14:10 PCB E-CAD / M-CAD Import 15:15 Emission Simulation Rule Based Checking 17:44 Value of Pre-Compliance EMC Simulation 21:54 EMC Test Setup: CST Template Wizard 27:52 Prediction Case: Conducted Emissions 33:16 High Performance Computing on Cloud 35:35 Summary and Conclusion Products Mentioned: 3DEXPERIENCE Simulia: https://www.goengineer.com/3dexperien...
