Day 1 of the Bassmaster Elite Series at Lake Murray started about as bad as it possibly could have. The fishing was brutally tough early, I couldn’t get consistent bites, and then the weather rolled in HARD. Heavy rain, changing conditions, and nonstop adjustments made this one of the toughest tournament days of the season so far. But late in the day, everything started to change. After struggling for most of the morning, I finally put together a stronger finish and found a little momentum heading into Day 2. In a season where every event matters and the pressure to stay in the Elite Series is higher than ever, this day could end up being a huge turning point.
